description formats and resizes floppy disks
version 0.3.0
language English
OS Linux (bash)
license Open Source (GPL version 2)
requirements fdformat, mke2fs, mkfs.minix, mkdosfs

format formats your floppies with different capacities of 1440 kBytes or above. Even floppies with an original size of only 1440 kBytes can be reformatted. Now it is possible to save and to transport a file whose size would normally be too large.
Additionally format creates a file system of your choice on the floppy. You can choose between FAT-12, FAT-16, FAT-32, ext2 and minix. If you want to use the disk with DOS or Windows, FAT-12 is the right option.
